Step by Step procedure to apply for Aadhar Card Online

Process 1

1. Visit the official website of UIDAI.
2. Click on the link Locate Enrollment & Update Centres.
3. Enter the details as required by the portal.
4. After finding enrollment centre, You can book an appointment online as per your convenience.

Process 2

1. First, fill the Enrollment form. You can fill it online or in Enrollment centre. I suggest you take an Enrollment form from Enrollment centre and fill it carefully.
2. Submit it to Enrollment centre employee, Enrollment centre employee will take your biometric information such as fingerprint scans and iris scan.
3. Then Enrollment centre employee enters the data in its computer. Give correct information to Enrollment centre employee to avoid any future errors.
4. After successful completion of the above steps, An acknowledgement slip of your enrollment will be generated. It will contain 14 digit enrollment number
5. Take this slip with you. Keep it in the safe place.

Process 3

After successful completion of the process 1 and process 2, I suggest you regularly visit the official website of UIDAI and check your Aadhar Status online

Step by Step procedure to check Aadhar Status and Downloading eAadhar Online:

1. Keep acknowledgement slip with you
2. Visit the official website of UIDAI. 
3. Click on Check Aadhaar Status 

1. Enter your Enrolment ID , Date/Time and Security code carefully ( Please check your acknowledgement slip for this information )
2. Click on green button Check Status
3. If your Aadhar card is generated, You can download it immediately.

How to download e-Aadhar card online

1. Keep acknowledgement slip with you
2. Visit the official website of UIDAI.
3. Click on Download Aadhaar
4. Carefully enter the information as per acknowledgement slip. After that click on Request OTP.  
5. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your Registered Mobile Number.
6. Enter your OTP
7. After successful completion of the above steps, you will be able to download e-Aadhar card

What is the Password to open e-Aadhar card PDF

In order to avoid misuse of Aadhar card information, UIDAI provides the authentication mechanism to secure user information.

To open e-Aadhar card PDF file password is of 8 characters

These 8 characters are

First FOUR letters of your name in CAPITAL LETTERS and your YEAR OF BIRTH

For example, if your name is MOHAN and your year of birth is 1991 then your password is

MOHA1991

If your name is RAM KUMAR and your year of birth is 1991 then your password is

RAMK1991

If your name is M.R. KUMAR and your year of birth is 1991 then your password is

M.R.1991

If your name is RAM and your year of birth is 1991 then your password is

RAM1991

8. After successful completion of the above process and steps, Visit your nearby Cyber Cafe and take the printout of your e-Aadhar on glossy paper.

9. Laminate it and You are done
